Francesca Fontana is an italian painter.  Born in Naples, she lives and works between Ibiza and Milan. 

Over the years she has worked as a cartoonist, illustrator and graphic designer, collaborating with important designers, record and publishing companies. 

She never left out painting, her great passion, always experimenting with new techniques and different styles. 

She has exhibited her works in several countries and her paintings have been sold to art lovers and collectors in Europe, America and China. 

In 2018 when she moved to Ibiza, she started a demanding research and experimentation job. 

Salt, fused with minerals , metals and paints, is the essence of Francesca Fontana's works. Her artistic practice often throws us into panic because it takes away the reference coordinates. In the figurative as in the abstract  she tells the daily experience of her life in Ibiza. Salt is the ingredient that more than others evokes our structure and how we evolve and transform, it reacts and merges with minerals and metals, just as we modify the fundamental structure of our behavior. The salt becomes an infinite scenario with respect to the limit of the canvas ... it becomes projection.
